Memo on 3G

At 2:30pm today, Beijing time, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued three 3G licenses, with China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) receiving a TD-SCDMA license, China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) a WCDMA license, and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) a CDMA2000 license.
