China Online Game Market in Q2 2008

According to the latest data from the researchers at Analysys International (via Digitimes), China's online gaming market generated 4.43 billion yuan (about $645 million) during the second quarter of 2008. This represents an increase of 11.2 percent on a quarter basis and 65.9 percent year-on-year.

Shanda grabbed the biggest share of the market with 17.9 percent, followed by NetEase (12.8 percent) and Giant (11.4 percent). The leading providers in Q2 were as follows:

Shanda: 17.9%
NetEase: 12.8%
Giant (formerly ZhengTu): 11.4%
The 9: 10.9%
Tencent: 10.5%
Sohu: 7.4%
Perfect World: 7.4%
9You: 5.6%
NetDragon: 3.8%
Kingsoft: 2.8%
China.com: 1.7%
